About Us

Karl-Albert Kunz began repairing instruments in 1981 after completing his apprenticeship. During this time he began to develop his own ideas and in 1985 produced the first trumpet with his signature. In 1989 Kunz earned his master craftsman certification and founded FREEBELL Instruments.

For the past 15 years he has been working closely with brass instrumentalists from diverse musical backgrounds with diverse musical needs. From classical to jazz, big band to salsa. These influences continue to contribute to the development of the FREEBELL Instrument line.

Our product list is proof of the diversity of our instruments. We do not offer mass produced horns, rather instruments that are tailored to each musician and his or her needs.
